5 new cadets this weekend atended boot camp to boost their training and develop their skills.
During the 16th to the 18th of November 1701(Johnstone) Sqn ,2329(Castle Douglas) Sqn and Kelvinside CCF endured a Fieldcraft weekend, that was held at Garelochhead Training Camp and Strone Camp.
The squadron has just returned from running it's first weekend leadership course held at Garelochhead Training Camp. The squadron run course was also attended by staff and cadets from 1001 (Monklands) Squadron and Kelvinside Academy CCF.
After months of waiting, we are very pleased to announce that Scott Gralko has finally been promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer, the first CWO the squadron has had for many years. The promotion was made by Wing Commander Tony Sneider as part of the squadrons Annual Formal Inspection.
Congratulation to cadet's Thomson and Balden who were tonight promoted to Corporal, while corporals Love and Kelly were promoted to Sergeant.
Every year Scotland & N. Ireland Region hold week long camps at MOD Machrihanish for 4 consectutive weeks during July/August.
Although during July the squadron has been on stand down some cadets and staff have still been working away.
The squadron took part in the second annual 2175 (Rolls-Royce) Squadron inter squadron quiz and retained the title as quiz champions.
On Wednesday 20th May, ten cadets set out to defend the squadrons glory in the inter-squadron football tournament organised by 122 (Maryhill) Sqn.
