Drill

Drill is a very important part of squadron life. Cadets are initially taught the basics to allow them to join in on the parades we hold at the start and end of every night.

Cadets them move on to learn how to march which is particularly important when it comes to attending camps on RAF stations, and for occassions such as Remembrance Sunday. Those who excel at drill also have the chance to join the squadron Drill Team which participates in the Wing Drill Competition held annually.

For a bit of added fun the cadets also take part in silent drill, where no commands are issued. All the cadets have to remember what actions they have to carry out, and when to do them. This can look amazing when it works out well, but can also fall apart if just one person forgets what to do!
